No Frontiers updates its website

BEIRUT - At the time student activity recession hits the summer break, independent leftist student group No Frontiers (NF) updated its website.

The group's website is now available at www.nofrontiers.8k.com.

"The website still needs a lot of work," commented Hussein Samra, the site's webmaster.

However, Samra noted, NF was one of the first student groups to establish its own website in 1999.

"We are one of the very few Lebanese leftist youth groups which has its own website ," added Samra.

The group's independence and their non-affiliation with any political part outside the American University of Beirut (AUB), NF saw a necessity in creating the site.

"We don't have a lot of contact with the media and the world outside the gates of AUB," Samra argued saying that the website "remains one of the means through which the group can reach interested activists and publicize its activity."

"Our generation enjoys the know-how of information technology. Therefore we employed this acquired skill in propagating our thought and beliefs," according to the webmaster.

"A newly designed interactive website is a must and a need. Looks sometimes are important," he said.

NF has no problem to give public access to its information and its documents. "We have nothing to hide," Samra said. "Hence, you can find our political paper and other important documents published for everyone to see and read on the website."

The website contains an array of sections such as the group's political paper, its bylaws, declaration of principles, achievements, pictures and posters, circulars written and distributed by NF in AUB, some articles from local media about NF and the group's favorite links.

"We wish people will like what we have done and definitely we would love to receive any feedback or comments concerning our work," Samra concluded.
