Politically-aware activists reached their worst levels of frustration. In a world of standardized consumerism that dictates on the planet's population how to eat, drink, wear, walk and talk, the greater number of citizens look pre-occupied with such shallow items disregarding their rights and interests that are being stolen from their behinds. With an increasing number of uneducated people who fail to read daily newspapers, and with an equal number of people who need basic awareness, activists feel they have been let down. Intellectuals and the educated among these activists have been doing a lousy job too. They failed to modernize their rhetoric and to catch up with the dominant style. In other words, if your audience does not understand what you are saying, try to rephrase your sentences. Instead, intellectuals and the educated have become stuck in their old-fashioned school frequently reiterating slogans that have become out of time and place. Leftist intellectuals should look around them. Leftist thought need to be married with sciences other than politics and history. It needs to be coupled with other sciences such as public administration, sociology and marketing. By saying marketing, we do not mean that leftist should start look into ways for selling their ideology for profit. Human beliefs that aim at improving the situation of humanity are not for sale. But such humane ideologies should be well packaged in a way that would appeal for the minds and thinking of the several empty-headed consumers. It has been noticeable that one of the deficiencies in consumer cultures is their inability to read and educate themselves. These consumerists have become people not willing to spend effort in reading and digesting books that would improve their lives and understanding. Yet, leftists should ask themselves how these lazy people raced each other to read books like Harry Potter. Perhaps by figuring out the psychological answer, leftists would be able to convince consumers to read some leftist literature that might prove beneficial for progress.
