We
are back!
We
hope this time it will be permanent. As we write these
lines, we live a dilemma: Should we stop forcing ourselves
going against the mainstream of apathy, or should we
continue this activity which we think is highly needed in
the Arab world that is striving to regain some form of
governance, national sovereignty and dignity. No matter
how much this small contribution eventually contributes to
improving the sociopolitical situation in the Arab world,
it still faces enormous logistical difficulties.
Writing, editing, pre-press an online publishing all
require allocation and commitment of considerable
financial and human resources.
After
a long debate, the team of this publication finally
resolved that the sacrifice is worth it, that regardless
of the difficulties, the apathy of contributing writers
and the relatively low number of readers, Alternative
should live. Therefore, this issue is the fruit of our
endless effort to keep this publication going after less
than one year of interruption and after little more than
two years of its first appearance. At this point, two
things come to mind: That the road to democratization and
equality is way long, and that if there is a will, there
must be a way.
